Generalisation – A very common expression

A word  express the meaning in wider sense . Some of the illustrations of generalisation are like.......

ü  I want to be rich

ü  I  have pain

ü  I know them 

ü  People in big cities are always busy  etc...............

In NLP generalisation  meaning  filtering of  information by mind based on individual memories, values, belief, experience  etc............... &  creating behaviour or reaction towards people, events & circumstances .

e.g. – If we saw any  road accident ............ different people will comments based on their filter – generalisation

ü  must have not wear helmet

ü  must have over speeding

ü  may be driving with drinks

ü  may be careless ..............etc.........

In our day to day dealing , we use the terms :

General               -              Specific

Tree                       -              Mango tree

Fruits                     -              Apple

City                        -              Bangalore

Etc..........................

Little awareness  in communication may help to distinguee generalisation and specific uses of words and make more clarity and avoid  generalisation ..................................
