I learnt PDCA cycle in one of the ISO certification class
during my service tenure
Ø
P stand for Plan – One needs to prepare a list of activities to
be performed
Ø
D stand for Do - One
performs as per plan
Ø
C stand for Check – One checks the performed action as compare
to planned
Ø
A stand for Act – Action as per set objectives.
Cycle word is used as it goes on repeating till one
achieve the desired output.
When I planned marriages of my Children , I remember a
simple process which is more or less same as “ PDCA ”
·
Objective – Marriage
function to be completed with full satisfaction
·
Strategy – Deciding
the criteria and planning for the function accordingly
·
Budget – As per plan
, budget was prepared and funds and resources were arranged
·
Action – Marriage
performed as scheduled within planned budget.
·
Result – Marriage
function completed as planned with full satisfaction
·
Evaluation –
Function was evaluated & deviations were noted for future reference.
Such simple processes , one may apply to any task or goal.
Very systematic and easy approach. This is how professional learning can be
utilised in personal life. Like this several small small professional learning can be used at home.
some time back I
posted an article “ Home maker ” How house wives are managing home efficiently
in a professional way . ( link: http://udaiwal-sk.blogspot.com/2015/09/a-manager-beyond-home-maker.html)
“ Use techniques learnt consciously then it becomes an unconscious competence
