In today’s
working environment, it has become necessary for an Executive to present
activities of his department periodically to the management for information
sharing and decision making. Executives are very effective in their
performance, but some how they face difficulty in presenting the same to the
management in an effective way .
Presentation
is a skill, which any body can learn and improve his personal effectiveness.
Some simple tips given below will help an Executive to make his presentation
effective and impressive :
1. Subject/Title/Topic of the
presentation should be clearly and well understood by the presenter.
2. Based on above , one need to frame
the objectives of presentation
3. Once the objectives are framed , this helps in preparation of contents
4. Know the source of presentation (
multimedia projector/whiteboard etc )
5. Know the target population/Group
6. Know the time allotted
7. Prepare the sequence of presentation
8. Well dressed
9. Come early ( 15-20 min) to the
presentation hall and check the projectors and other required materials. Set
his own position
10. Become aware of hall/ sound system
etc
11. Keep a glass and water bottle near
his table
12. Follow the sequence as planned
13. Introduce himself and make familiar
himself with audience
14. Brief the objectives of presentation
to the audience
15. Keep necessary eye contacts at the
time of addressing audience
16. Be aware of his mannerism
17. Make effective use of media available
for presentation
18. Voice modulation should be proper
19. Use Simple language/short sentences
20. Must conclude before closer
21. Take feed back and make a note of it
These simple
tips will make presentation easy and effective. One need to practice and keep
in mind all above tips while preparing for any presentation. All supporting
papers should be kept separately so that same may be use at the time of
discussion or for clarification etc
