Human Values.............

Men or Women are known by their values ? I had an opportunity to attend a programme on Human Values during my service tenure in one of the  Country’s  reputed Management  Institute. The curriculum of the 3days programme was designed keeping in view the Sr. Executives of the Corporate Houses as target group. Contents were based on learning from our past Social reformers and Leaders well known for their values and contribution to reform the human society across  the  world . Names listed below are :

1.       Swami Vivekanand          -  All power is within you; you can do anything and everything
2.       Sri Aurobindo Ghosh      -  The real difficulty is always in ourselves, not in our surroundings
3.       Ravindra nath Tagore     -  Love does not claim possession but gives freedom
4.       Mahatma Gandhi             -  The future depends on what we do in the present

The objective of the programme was to provide human value knowledge and develop human skills at the Sr.level Management, so that they can demonstrate those skills at work place and create an  environment of cultural harmony within the organisation.
A dome shaped conference hall surrounded with greeneries specially created to provide an environment of peace and harmony to make learning more effective and practical. Sattvic food was served in canteen to maintain a balance state of mind. Participants were advised to wear white loose clothing which provides  more body comfort and flexibility in movements during the programme.
“ Values are important in a human being for making him holistic in his approach ”
Values are state of emotions or feelings which undertake a decision or a choice of a goal and determine, the method used to achieve or execute that decision, choice or goal.
The value tree above clearly speaks the values needed and cultivated among the people within an Organisation for greater success and sustainability.
Programme was based on following 5 ancient principles to develop Human Values among the Participants.
1.       Gunas – Sattwa –  Illumination  , Rajas – Dynamism  and Tamas – Inertia/Darkness
2.       Karma theory – Work can purify our mind, heart and emotions
“ Work is warship ”
3.       Cause and effect principles –
a.       A cause at present produces effect in future
b.      An effect at present must have a cause in the past
c.       Effect return to the source of the cause
d.      Like cause like effect
e.      Each cause produces its own effect – There is no cancellation
4.       Rina theory -
5.       Higher self and Lower self
“Practice makes man perfect ”
One need to cultivate and practice good "human values" in one’s life for better result
