Challenges are inevitable in one’s life. It may be either
personal or professional. Challenge defined in dictionary is :
The situation of being faced with, something that needs great mental or physical
effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person's ability.
After Engineering graduation as usual pressure arises from
family , friends & relatives for job or higher study or some short of engagement
to justify the graduate status. I was not the exception . I opted to pursue
post graduation. Applied for admission in the same college (MACT- Currently-
MANIT, Bhopal M.P.). Got relief from external pressure, inner pressure still exist with a
question in mind “what is next ? ”.
After
completion of PG, engaged with
assignment locally and continue job search, which justify my qualification.
College Head of Mechanical Engineering suggested
to join department as Teaching Assistant
( i.e. Junior faculty member ). Continue in teaching profession for about 18
months , thereafter, got an opportunity
in Cement Manufacturing – A bajaj group of company in Rajasthan. Decided to
join and obtained permission from Department Head as well with parents.
First time going out from home & home
state alone a big challenge to sustain the change i.e. Corporate culture ,
Industrial environment & new job profile. More than engineering inter
personal skill, communication & people dealing played important role. Learnt
vigorously the technology and industrial culture which helped further to continue
in sector with different groups of companies 31+ years successfully in
different jobs skills like – Plant maintenance, Procurement and planning,
Projects, Corporate, Materials Management, human resources & Training development. Few important learning from
corporate career are:
