Challenges – Personal & Professional

Challenges are inevitable in one’s life. It may be either personal or professional. Challenge defined in dictionary is : 

The situation of being faced with,  something that needs great mental or physical effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person's ability.

After Engineering graduation as usual pressure arises from family , friends & relatives for job or higher study or some short of engagement to justify the graduate status. I was not the exception . I opted to pursue post graduation. Applied for admission in the same college (MACT- Currently- MANIT, Bhopal M.P.). Got relief from external pressure, inner pressure still exist with a question in mind “what is next ? ”.

After completion of PG,  engaged with assignment locally and continue job search, which justify my qualification. College Head of Mechanical  Engineering suggested to join  department as Teaching Assistant ( i.e. Junior faculty member ). Continue in teaching profession for about 18 months , thereafter,  got an opportunity in Cement Manufacturing – A bajaj group of company in Rajasthan. Decided to join and obtained permission from Department Head as well with parents.

 First time going out from home & home state alone a big challenge to sustain the change i.e. Corporate culture , Industrial environment & new job profile. More than engineering inter personal skill, communication & people dealing played important role. Learnt vigorously the technology and industrial culture which helped further to continue in sector with different groups of companies 31+ years successfully in different jobs skills like – Plant maintenance, Procurement and planning, Projects, Corporate, Materials Management, human resources & Training  development. Few important learning from corporate career are:

Ø  Clarity in mind – i.e. Goal clarity

Ø  Sound Technical knowledge – Basic engineering and job specific

Ø  Inter personal skill – Going along with people , family and friends

Ø  Good communication – Verbal and written

Ø  Good knowledge of English. Try to learn local language

Ø  Good physical, mental, spiritual and emotional  health.

Ø  Ready to accept any challenges offered by company time to time

Ø  Loyalty , honesty, care& share attitude are  few important values

Sound Knowledge,  skills & attitude helps in planning healthy, wealthy and happy living even after superannuation .

“Fit India Movement” – An initiative for healthy India

Today I was fortunate to watch live TV programme on National Channel  -  Launching of “ Fit India Movement ” by honourable Prime Minister . I saw the introductory programme clips and listened to the inspirational views of honourable PM. While watching clips I recollected my childhood days of routine life style at home and school. Some of the practices were :

Ø  Early to bed early to rise practice

Ø  Morning walk

Ø  Regular cycling

Ø  Physical games with friends

Ø  Regular PT and games at school

Ø  Going 10KM school by walk

Almost all games shown on clips were part of our routine – like kho kho, kanche, guli danda, kabaddi, etc......

Every one dreams of good health, wealth  and happiness in life. A fitness movement is whole life moment  and a life style change needs to be looked by each one of us as rightly said by PM.

Initiative  like Clean India, International day of yoga .........are some of the steps  already taken by Govt  to uplift the health, wealth and happiness of the people at large. I compiled couple of articles in the blog and you tube videos based on my personal experience.

Let us join the movement and move towards a Fit India – With  healthy , wealthy & happy people, family & society.

Tourism – An Experience

Some of the common terms used very often , whenever  we plan  visit to a place of Pilgrimage, Natural beauty, Historical place, known city or place within or outside country  are :

Ø  Travel plan

Ø  Mode of travel – Road, Rail, Air , horse riding, walking , climbing ......

I come across such a situation recently , when my son & daughter in law  plan a family trip to Nepal a historical country & a famous Tourism destination  of hills , valleys & pilgrimage.  A short and a memorable trip with nine family members. Most of the distant destinations were covered by flight , rest by road travel .

Excellent arrangement was made at  OYO – Group  Hotel Shiva Shankar in Kathmandu, Nepal . The Managing Director of Hotel Mr. Prajwol Shrestha ( +977 9813905607) scheduled entire trip from Airport pickup , drop to Nepal visit for full week.  Excellent Hospitality, arrangement and comfort at all place of visit including a auspicious pilgrimage “ Muktinath ”

Pokra a beautiful city with green and clean environment was most attractive destination.

JomSom a hilly place to reach Muktinath was also a memorable place of natural beauty with a very favourable climate . Road journey from JomSom to Muktinath was full of pleasure with hills, green terrain  and rivers .

Walking, climbing, was a real challenge and very enjoyable an hour journey from bus stand to temple Muktinath.
