Unity – A success & Survival strategy

The dictionary meaning of Unity is – the state of being united or coherent

I picked up the word “Unity” from “ Run for Unity ”  - a programme initiated by our Govt. On 31^st Oct.,015  - National Unity Day - in memory of our great leader and visionary of “Unity” Late  Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel .

Some of the other similar words comes to my mind while thinking the real meaning of unity and purpose of such programmes.

Unit – an individual in a  family

Union – a group of people for a purpose

United – people  come together for a purpose

Universe – a group of galaxies ...............etc ....

Existence and purpose is served only  when it works in harmony and cooperation each other.

Our palm/hand  works with full efficiency only when all the fingers unite and work together , each finger has its purpose and identity, similarly “ Unity “ works when their is harmony in each and every person, group or elements  

Every success is possible when Unity is maintained i.e. the state of being united or coherent

Examine ourselves , family, neighbour, society, city, state, country, entire world ..........and also the nature today .............

Are we in harmony ?

Is state of being united or coherent is maintained ?

What are the deviations ?

Whenever there are  disturbances or issues we need to look for answers of these questions and initiate corrective action to bring the “ Unity “

One world one family is possible with “ Unity “ let us join hand and work for unity in our own areas of control and make all the people in this world – Healthy , Wealthy & Happy .

Sustainability and Driving mechanism of any Organisation or system !!!!!!

For running any Organisation or System following basic elements are essential

1.       Men

2.       Machine

3.       Material

4.       Money

5.       Method

Human being consist of following elements (Men/Women)

Body – Which need Food, Clothing , Shelter , Medical assistance

Mind – Need -  Learning /Education/Training

Soul – Need -  Spiritual Learning/Education/Training

All businesses are for the survival or to fulfil the need of human being i.e

Health

Wealth &

Happiness

 Industrial sectors  – Manufacturing -  Cement, Steel, Medicine, clothing, Food processing, automobiles etc...., Services -  Hospitals, Hotel, tourism, Health Centre , Entertainment etc ........

Agriculture – Mainly for food items , fruits, vegetables etc........

Government – For managing the all resources at large for country and providing basic infrastructure

Like... Road, Rail, communications, electricity, shelter, rules-regulation etc .......

Spiritual Organisation – For providing spiritual understanding to the people at large

Social Organisation/NGOs – For providing supports to people for basic need

Defence Organisation – For protection of people and property of the country

IT/Communication – Providing support to all the above systems

These  systems are run by the people / for the people. People are divided in the ratio

5% by the people – playing leading role

95% for the people – playing Contributors role

Economics revolves  in the reverse ratio 95%  among 5% people and 5 % among 95 % people.

Health, Wealth & Happiness ? ? ?  are every one need. What is that which may bring balance among human being. Balance in ratio . It is responsibility of every individual to think and work on these ratio to bring the balance and thus Heath, Wealth and Happiness for all on this earth .

Food, shelter, clothing, education and medical assistance is the basic right of every one on this earth. It is the responsibility of systems to ensure, which will bring Health, Wealth &Happiness.

A Secret of achieving every thing - "Right Attitude"

There are several literature , discourses by experts on “ Attitude ”. Very very common word used by every one including a successful person as well unsuccessful , whether you achieve good result or bad results attitude play an important role.

Some of very common quotes on attitude are :

a.      Your attitude decides your altitude

b.      You are your attitude

“American psychologist William James (1842-1910) remarked: The greatest discovery of my generation is that people can change their lives by changing their attitudes of mind ”

A definition from Sri Aurobindo’s psychological thought – An attitude is defined as a mental set which predisposes one to perceive  things in a certain way, to feel towards things in a certain way, and to be prone to react towards things in a certain way. Thus an attitude influences all the three basic elements of behaviour, namely, thinking, feeling and willing.

Faculty of thinking , feeling is mind which create positive or negative emotions thus create willingness which gives the result.

One need to understand his/her own state of mind at particular moment of time while taking decision , thus a positive or right attitude decides the desired outcome or results.

A Strategy for better results and Control - " Integration "

A very common term used by all of us in our daily routine  “ Integration ”

The word origin is latin meaning – The act or process of integration

Synonyms of word are : Combination, amalgamation, unification, consolidation, inclusion etc........

People , organisations, societies are looking for integration of their functions and associates for better result and control. As an individual one can take advantage of integration in various ways:

1.       Integration of new knowledge, experience with the existing capabilities for better result

2.       Integration of self with society for betterment

3.       Integration with safety and environment for care and concern of people, properties and environment

4.       Integration with economy for better utilisation of resources and result

In the process of liberalisation and globalisation organisations are looking for integration of their operations for better results and control.

Sustainability of people, organisation , societies, countries, is very much depends upon integration of their functions capabilities. In today’s world of fast changing technology and competition – Integration is a need of hours for every one .................................

A Powerful tool for success - " Common Sense "

 

A  term used by all of us in various situation for people and self is Common Sense. A sense which is available with every one but rarely used . Experts says :

3.      It is thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense – Robert G. Ingersoll

Experience says most successes are result of common sense . Common sense is the effective utilisation of our other senses mean one need to be aware & alert every moment during the task . Because of Casual approach, ignorance & over confidence common sense is ignored.

Association - A Mechanism for action and result

Association - A  common word used by all of us . The dictionary says the meaning association mean – “   A Group organised for a shared purpose; a link, a connection” or Feeling or ideas commonly connected with another idea. One or other way, we are part of an Association . Associations are  named differently according to its purpose and objectives, some of the examples are :

1.       Family

2.       Labour Unions

3.       Societies – In Apartments , Cooperatives , Education etc....

4.       Assemblies

5.       Parliaments

6.       NGOs

7.       Organisation

8.       UNO

9.       UN assembly and so on ....................................

 Every Associations  need to act as per by- laws formed for them to achieve well defined results . The results or outcome of associations depend on following basic parameters

Ø  How well purpose and objectives or results expected are defined

Ø  Action steps taken by the members within framed guidelines

Ø  How much awareness and concerned members have for the purpose and objectives.

Ø  How flexible one in behaviour to achieve the results within framework

Vision, Mission and Values of an Associations must be clearly defined and it is the responsibility of all members to aligned themselves with those values like

·         Integrity

·         Honesty

·         Discipline or by- laws of association

·         Mutual Cooperation etc......

Success of any Association depends on quality of alignment. Self analysis , intro-inspection will help for necessary corrective action and  proper alignment .

Transaction - A natural survival strategy

Noting can exist without transaction. Every Individual, Corporate, Organisation, NGO or any System of services to humanity or else need a transaction either in the form of money , labour or any other form or kind. A common medium for transaction is currency , although it varies in its values country to country but common for all transaction in the world.

System sustainability depends on quality and quantity of transaction. Any systems need to be ecologically balanced in following aspects in its operation :

Economic sustainability                         – Uniform Flow of currency

Social sustainability                                – Uniform flow of services to society

Safety sustainability                     - Uniform flow of care and concern for people life and property

Environment sustainability                  – Uniform flow of care and concern for nature – land,                                                                           water, air, flora&fauna

                                                                    

 Body survival needs                       – food, shelter, clothing, medical care,

Mind survival needs                       – Good education, training, coaching, counciling ........

Spirit/soul survival needs              -- Happiness, bliss, love ...............

People have converted all these transactional requirements in to businesses in some or other forms

If every one maintained transactional uniformity survival of every one is possible and nature has capacity to fulfil  this.

Spirituality – empowering  “ A Common man ”

In words of Guruji Sri Sri Ravishankar – Spirituality is nothing but Caring & Sharing, Offering oneself in service. A common man  believe and practice the act of  Caring , sharing & service in his day to day life very much . In a very popular movie Chennai Express Actor Shah Rukh Khan dialogue “ Don’t underestimate the power of A Common man ” What is that which makes a common man  powerful , it is Spirituality ,  which makes him powerful and competent for the society.

A common man makes some one Un-common or special.  India is the largest democracy and a common man has power to make this country Powerful and a Vision - 2020 of Late Dr.A.P.J . Abdul Kalam of Making India  A Developed Country  is possible. One need to involve himself/herself and support various initiative of :

Government

Social Organisations

NGOs

Spiritual Organization etc........

All  Popular personalities belongs to a common man only .......common man becomes uncommon by his/her act of Caring , Sharing & Service. We need to be special in ourselves. A powerful concept

Safai Giri ..........

Safai Giri – An initiative by India Today’s Group on – Clean India

On 2^nd Oct.,2015 i.e. Mahatma Gandhi Birthday , I was watching programme titled “ Safai Giri ”on news channel Aaj Tak  of India Today’s Group. Many renowned singers were invited to participate in the programme along with other dignitaries. 13 categories were selected in the contest, winners were awarded by Prime Minister on the celebration. I was just thinking about the title of the programme “ Safai Giri ” my mind quickly gone to past memory of college days when we were familiar with similar words like:

Dada Giri

Neta Giri

Kari Giri

Mehman Giri  etc.........

My mind further started thinking and analysing the  meaning of these words.........................

Dada Giri – an act  which makes a person powerful and who has passion on managing people and things on his own style and wish

Neta Giri – an act  which makes a person Leader who has passion on serving people and society on his own style and wish

Kari Giri – an act which makes a person Artist who has passion on his art in his own style and wish

Mehman Giri – an act which makes a person Good human being who has passion of visiting people on his own style and wish ---- and so on ---------

When i follow these definition then i concluded the meaning of Safai Giri  as   an act which makes people passionate about cleanliness and that is the mission of Clean India. I think the word chosen by India Today’s Group is the right word which brings people together and all are involved and proud of their “ Safai Giri ” .  We are good at personal hygiene  if we move one more  step ahead from Personal Hygiene to social hygiene definitely the dream of Clean India is not far away .......................

Let us join hand and take oath for “Safai Giri ” as an social movement and make India clean and disease free.
